The European Vaccination Card (EVC) is designed to be simple, secure, and compact, ensuring your privacy is protected and that it complies with data protection laws like the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The EVC, which EUVABECO is testing with volunteers in five pilot countries, will include:
- Patient Identity Details: The EVC is not an identification card but it will include your name and date of birth. This ensures that health professionals can accurately verify your identity and provide the correct vaccination to the right person.
- Vaccine History: A record of the vaccines you receive, including the name and date of each vaccine. You can also add information about past vaccinations if you choose.
EUVABECO’s EVC is intended to be a personal vaccination record, not a vaccination passport. As a result, the EVC EUVABECO is piloting will not include information relevant to passport or certificate functions, like medical exemptions or proof of immunity, since EUVABECO does not enforce vaccination or require proof of it.
