How would I use a European Vaccination Card (EVC) across administrative borders?

Whether you are traveling within your own country or heading abroad, having a European
Vaccination Card (EVC) would make it easy to keep your vaccination records with you in
different administrative regions. You could carry your EVC either as a paper card or as a
digital version on your phone.

With the EVC, you have control over your own vaccination data. There is no need for a
centralized database because you carry your vaccination information with you, and you
decide when and where to share your information.

The EVC includes a list of vaccinations that you have received, written in a “common
language” that is easy to understand. This would mean that your vaccination information
could be recognized and understood no matter where you were in Europe.

A draft plan for how the European Vaccination Card will work, including real-life examples of
how it can be used, will be available on this website in October 2024.
